We’ve had no wifi this week! *Wails* It has shown me how much I rely on the internet for, well, everything! For some reason I have rubbish 3G coverage too so I really have been cut off. Not great when I have a blog and an online business to run! Of course this also means that I haven’t been able to read any blogs or comment on last weeks Little Loves (again!). I am grovelling apologetically to all those that link up and begging for forgiveness. Now that we’re back up I plan to shut myself away tonight and Saturday morning to have a Little Loves binge read!
Anyway, without further ado
Welcome to this weeks Little Loves post!
Read
While not being able to indulge my Pretty Little Liars and Sons of Anarchy obsession I took to scouring my bookshelves for a good book to re-read. I picked up Arlington Park by Rachel Cusk, a book that I read while pregnant with N. It’s just as good as I remembered, I love the detail and depth of the characters even though plot wise very little happens!
The girls have read a fab book sent over to us, it’s called ‘Worm, Slug, Maggot & Leech and their Troublesome Transformation!’ by the very lovely Polly Walker. N read it to E the other night and totally got the message straight away, it’s one we can all do with hearing no matter how old we are -being happy with who we are and to be ourselves. They loved it and we had a great chat about the book afterwards too. I really recommend it!
You can find it on Amazon here, and if you want more info head on over to Polly’s blog or Facebook page. She is a fellow Little Loves linker-upper so make sure you head over and check her out.
Watched
Not having wifi has helped me realise how rubbish TV really is, we hardly watch anything on the usual channels any more. I will admit though that I was excited to watch Bake Off this week, and I’m sure I won’t be alone in that. E even snuck downstairs and watched it intently with us! Her sister had a friend over so while they were chatting and watching youtube it seemed only fair to let E down with us.
As we’re reviewing a BMW 2 series Gran Tourer for ten days we’ve packed in loads of daytrips, including a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I loved watching the girls faces while they were on the rides, a mixture of fear and sheer delight! E loved Nickelodeon Land, especially the Dora the Explorer ride which she went on four times! Noo was crazy brave and went on any of the bigger rides she could possibly get on. All in all we had such a great day out.
I’ll be sharing more about it in my BMW review posts next week so be sure to keep an eye out.
Wore
The coolest hair bows have arrived for Little and Fierce this week, they are made by the brand Young Double and I want to keep them all! In a massive exertion of self control I’ve let them girls keep just one and this is the one they’ve chosen.
They are available as bobbles or hairclips and we have various monochrome designs. You can take a look at them all here.
Heard
We made a Spotify roadtrip playlist this week and each chose four of our favourite songs. I’ll be sharing it next week – no prizes for guessing which are the girls choices! One of my choices is this crazy nostalgic song..
Made
I was sick on Monday so the girls spent all morning being babysat by the Disney Channel. After giving them lunch I thought that our poor TV deserved a break so I got out a load of craft kits that I’ve had stored away. They loved it and N even went off pattern and made a dream catcher out of a ‘sew your own bag’!
and lastly..
The most amazing surprise landed on our doorstep this week – a Christmas Hamper! I know! Yes, it’s not Christmas yet, but who doesn’t love Christmas food? All that shortbread, and toffee and wine.
A big thank you to Spicers of Hythe for this amazing gift. We are already tucking in to it!
Have a lovely weekend!
