Oof, the last full week of the summer hols, and what a week! We had a lovely last few days of our holiday, only to head home and find out we’re still having to boil our water before we drink it. I was hoping all that palaver would be done with by now, ah well. It’s been an, um interesting week..so..,

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves post!

Read

I finished Amy Poehler’s Yes Please in the car on the way home from our holiday at the weekend. I absolutely loved it, especially the way it was written like a series of essays and not chronologically, that kind of format made it much  more interesting and easy to dip in and out of.

I also came home to lots of new reading material!

I’ve not had much time to look at them all properly but hopefully I can steal a few minutes with a coffee while the girls are playing.

The ever so lovely Aimee Horton tipped me off that one of our favourite authors has a new book out, so of course I just had to get it! If you’ve not read a Jonathan Harvey book before then I recommend you do, so funny and a great way with words.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping recently so I’m trying to go to bed a little earlier and give myself some time to read before I go to sleep.

Watched

The mister and I ended up watching Interstellar a couple of nights ago, and while space films are normally my kind of thing, this one just blew my mind. I have to say it’s one of the best films I’ve seen in a long time.

The girls were sent Two by Two on DVD this week so we popped it on after a busy day and they loved it. Really bright, fun and captivating. While it wasn’t my favourite kids film ever it certainly kept their attention and gave them a few giggles.

Wore

We went to London for the day last Friday and had the best time. I’m hoping to blog about it when I get a moment!

The girls wore, basic tops from H&M, Skirts by Bobo Choses via Scandi Mini (though I think those specific skirts have already sold out), hair clips by Anna Lou of London, jackets from Next and H&M respectively.

Heard

It’s been a bit of an eclectic week music wise for us. We’ve been loving old school Paramore, Swifty 0bvs and loads more. As the week’s gone on I’ve definitely been more in need of chilled reflective music and when this popped up on my newsfeed on Facebook I was instantly drawn to it. Oh you know me, a sucker for the harmonies!

Made

I’ve tried to get back on track with my juicing this week, but other than that I’ve not really made anything worth sharing. Let’s see what I can twist to fit… umm.. I’ve made an effort to get back on track fitness wise. I’m aiming to do 30 minutes of exercise every day, whether that’s a HIIT dvd, or a run, or even a run while the girls cycle like we did today!

I also made my apologies to the staff in our favourite gift shop yesterday after E dropped a ceramic star on the floor and broke it! I knew it was asking for trouble taking them with me when they’d been hyper and difficult all day, and why for the life of me I then took them into the coffee shop I will never know?! I spent the whole time shhing them and glaring at them to sit still and behave!

Lovely idyllic photo..

These, not so much..

The good thing I’ll take from it is that they let us take the unfinished brownies home and I got to eat some! Haha!

and lastly..

I’ve found this last full week before the girls start school next week particularly overwhelming and stressful. I’d forgotten that the mister would be working away, meaning that I’ve had the girls by myself and let’s just say they haven’t been the easiest behaviour wise *cough* I have work mounting up which makes me long for them to start school but on the other hand that will be it then both girls in fulltime for the first time. It’s all getting a bit emosh!
