This week has been the girls’ first full week of school and my first full week of working at home, and let me tell you we are all exhausted and looking forward to the weekend!
Welcome to this weeks Little Loves post!
Read
I’m STILL reading my Jonathan Harvey book, but I’ve nearly finished it. It’s definitely got better as it’s gone on, but it’s not my favourite of his books I must say.
Watched
After a few weeks break from Pretty Little Liars, I’ve started back on it again. I got a bit fed up with it before but it seems to have got going again now and sucked me right back in!
I also enjoyed watching Lady Chatterley’s Lover on Sunday night, did you see it? I thought it was brilliantly acted, it really kept my attention. It’s apparently divided critics with some saying their wasn’t enough sex and others saying there was too much. I personally liked that it didn’t feel the need to shock, the book was shocking back when it was published because of the context of the culture, these days not so much. I like that it focused more on the story of the three characters.
Wore
I’m going out on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday (a few days early, I might add!) and I’m still figuring out what to wear! I never go out anymore, so don’t really have a clue! I’m thinking of keeping it simple and going for something like this..
but with these platform shoes from H&M
We shall see!
As for what I’ve worn this week.. my work from home chic isn’t really worth sharing!
Heard
I’ve not been listening to a huge amount of music this week, my usual staple of The Staves has been on and I’ve also liked Nothing But Thieves for something I bit rockier. Here are my favourite tracks
Made
I’ve finally got around to buying a spiraliser. I took a look at a few but so many just seemed huge and I didn’t want something that would take up space in my kitchen so in the end I went for this one.
I made spaghetti bolognese for the rest of the family and had my sauce on courgetti and loved it. I must admit I didn’t even miss the pasta. Not one to bother with if you don’t like courgette though, obviously!
Of course I’ve been making a lot of coffee for myself this week. It’s been my first full week ever working from home and I’ve tried to stay at home rather than working from coffee shops. Ordering in some new pods for my Illy machine, has definitely helped.
This girls did some baking with daddy at the weekend and made some lovely bread rolls to go with our soup at Saturday lunchtime
and lastly..
To my horror I discovered this week that over the summer this blog had been hacked. My stats have been worryingly low and an email from a PR alerted me to the possible reason why. Somehow some code had been put in my site (not the techy terms, obvs!), which meant that any traffic from Google was being redirected to a spammy site *weeps* We’ve managed to sort it (thanks Sian, for the pointers) but I still have to wait for Google to crawl my site again before it stops showing up on searches and that could take weeks. I really hope this doesn’t have long term repercussions for me as I’ve worked so hard to build this blog up over the last few years.
Anyway, to cheer myself up I’m getting my hair cut and coloured this morning (Friday). It’s the first time I’ve ever had colour on my hair (I know!) but now the greys are just getting too much for me so I’m biting the bullet and going for it! See you on the other side!
Have a lovely weekend!
